Safety Measures
We understand that COVID is a major concern and many clients want to know what we are doing to keep them, and our employees, safe. We have always been careful about cross-contamination so many of our policies have always been standard.
Here is what you need to know:
Top national health experts have deemed house cleaning safe during the pandemic. This is what Anthony Fauci said in a recent Washington Post article when asked specifically about allowing repair people and house cleaners into his home:
“The only person who comes into the house besides (my wife) Christine and me is the woman who cleans the house once every two weeks. She wears a mask and gloves at all times while in the house.”
You can read what four other health specialists had to say about the matter HERE. All five agreed that it was safe to continue with cleaning and repair work. It is also worth mentioning that we have quite a few regular clients that are doctors and all have continued their service through the pandemic.
Our employees have minimal contact with people during their shifts. They typically clean alone and only occassionally work with one other person, they are told to socially distance when clients are home (we ask our clients to do the same), and they keep their masks on at all times. They are often only in 2 to 3 homes, at most, each day and never meet at an office or congregate with co-workers or other staff.
If an employee has any symptoms related to COVID or if they have been exposed to someone with COVID they are told to stay home for two weeks unless they receive a negative COVID test and a doctor declares it safe for them to return to work.
We will not clean for anyone that is suspected of having COVID or that has been exposed to someone with COVID. We are not offering special cleaning services to disinfect homes or offices that have had known or suspected cases. That is outside of our scope of work.
Employees always wear disposable gloves the entire time they are in a home and carry hand sanitizer with them. Gloves are never reused in another home. Shoe covers are also available upon request. All towels and mop pads are sanitized with bleach after every use. We never use Scotch-Brite pads or magic erasers in more than one home. To cut down on waste we cut off a small portion of a pad and magic eraser to use in a home and throw it away before moving on to the next house.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about continuing/starting cleaning services during this difficult time. We hope you all stay safe and healthy! 🙂
